today we carried on filming for our sequence and re-did the footage from our last session that we decided was not good enough for our final production. 

we will need to finish our filming soon so as to have our draft edit ready in time, also we need to sort out our props and any other things that will be necessary.

we intend to film again on sunday and hopefully get all the footage we need.

This lesson we presented our powerpoint pitch in front of the class explaining in detail all the different aspects of our production such as cast and crew information.

A part which we could have improved upon would have been organising and deciding our budget for the sequence better as it did not cover the amount we would need for advertisement.

Today we uploaded our footage that we recorded last lesson and attempted to edit sections together. This confirms that we are unsatisfied with the work and need to use more varying types of shots and angles and so will start filming again another day on which we will be more prepared.

Today we again visited the Priory Park woods to start filming our sequence, however we are not satisfied with what and how much we filmed and will do more filming at a later date.  

Problems we encountered were mud and slippery surfaces which hindered Zeena's acting as she did not have good grip when walking down the hill. 

Also another problem we had was how bright the sun was which caused problems when filming as we could not use the angles/shots we intended to use.

Today we went to the local Priory Park woods to take location photos for our sequence e.g. specific areas within the woods that would well suit our genre and plot. 

Problems we had were the weather and wet conditions which hindered us from efficiently selecting and moving onto locations, however we did decide on suitable locations for our sequence similar to our ideas and storyboard.

Today we finished the information on our pitch and then started on poster ideas to promote our film using photoshop.
We also finished the details on our storyboard and started coming up with ideas for a script.

Today we continued working on our pitch and adding more detail to the information needed to successfully interest a business in investing in our film.
Also we drafted up a story board of our sequence so as to have something to refer to while filming and editing as well as showing evidence of our preparation work.

today we worked on our film pitch to be presented on the 28th of january. we also came up with possible idea for our film title. the most fitting so far being "into the woods".
We collected relevant and helpful images to aid us in further developing our setting, props and characters, along with using youtube to determine what sorts of diegetic music we would want playing in the background of our sequence.

Dog Soldiers Opening Sequence (duration 2 minutes and 31 seconds)

The opening sequence introducing the film 'Dog Soldiers' starts with a black background with a central logo for the company Kismet Entertainment Group, this is then followed with a series of company names (still on a black background and all in medium sized white standard type); 'Kismet Entertainment Group and', 'The Noel Gay Motion Picture Company present', 'in association with Victor Film Company' and ' A Carousel Picture Company Production' with 'with support of the Luxembourg Fund' underneath in a smaller size.
Including the initial titles the opening sequence itself lasts around 2 minutes and 31 seconds, therefore would be a good sequence to base our ideas around for our footage as it is a horror and almost fits the length of time our sequence should last.
Once the footage finishes (with a shot of the moon) this is interrupted by the title of the film with again a black background with the text 'DOG SOLDIERS' in a bold, metallic, almost stencil type font entering from the top and bottom and meeting in the middle with a loud crashing sound.

Kidulthood Opening Sequence (duration 7 minutes 2 seconds)

The opening sequence for kidulthood starts with the revolver blue logo followed by the hanway films, stealth films, cipher films, stealth films/cypher films productions. Music then starts playing at a fast tempo (possibly indicating that it is going straight into the action) followed by the text 'in assosiation with tmc films' and in bold white then 'Kidulthood' title in italic then dissolving and cutting to a low angle shot.
This is then followed by a bombardment of swipes, cuts, close ups, two shots, tracking shots, and extreme close ups, introducing all the characters. The introduction shows a 'chavy' urban youth culture, which is partially helpful to our task as our sequence is that of a modern teen horror film.

Today we discussed as a group the strengths we each possess which could benefit the production of our work.
Possible locations we came up with are Priory Park, Bletchingley Woods, Reigate Woods, Reigate Hill, Castle Grounds and Redhill Woods/Common; these are all helpful for if we decided to pursue the horror genre.
Resources helpful to us are that of Jonny being able to drive, Chloe being artistic, Eliot doing Design and Zeena having done Drama. Also we are all competent with computers.
Ideas we generated for our opening sequence were a slasher horror chase scene through some woods and/or footage of teens partying (similar to that of 'Skins').
